Kai Ming provides free preschool services to children ages three to five years old from eligible families living in San Francisco. Upon enrollment in our program, your family will have access to comprehensive services at no cost to you.
We offer three options at different locations:
1. Full-day full-year
2. Full-day part-year
3. Part-day part-year
The comprehensive service package includes:
- A high quality multicultural preschool program
- Healthy nutritious meals for children at school
- Child health screenings and referral services
- Parental education
- Family support services
- Services to children with special needs through an Individualized Education Program (IEP) which is provided by San Francisco Unified School District
We receive funding from Head Start, California Department of Education, and First 5 San Francisco to support the development of young children and their families. There are multiple factors that decide your eligibility. Please refer to our Enrollment section for more details about how to enroll your child. You can also contact the Family Advocate at any of our locations for more information about enrollment.
Kai Ming Head Start, a participant in the Child Care Food Program, is soliciting Proposals from prospective suppliers of meals in order to comply with the federal regulations governing the program in matters of procurement. The contract will be for meals served to clients at all eight Kai Ming Centers.
Kai Ming will be awarding a contract for Breakfast, Lunch, and PM Snack for a one-year period beginning July 1, 2017.
