National Education Association’s Read Across America Day is on its 2nd year. The main goal of Read Across America Day is to share a love of reading and build a nation of readers. Research shows that children who are motivated to read and spend more time reading have better performance at school.
On March 2nd, 2012, Kai Ming TKL Center celebrated the day with parents and staff representatives from ING Direct Bank. CJ Heston from ING Direct was the story teller for the AM class and Jo McConnel from Raising- A- Reader read stories for the PM class children. TKL AM/PM classes celebrated Dr. Seuss 108th birthday and the book Cat in the Hat’s 50th birthday through reading Dr. Seuss books, working on art projects and engaging in math activities.
